Cards left 28Stock 23Best –
How to play
Goal
Clear all 28 cards from the three peaks onto the pile.
How it works
- Cards on the peaks are face down until nothing covers them. Tap a face-up peak card to move it onto the pile if it is one higher or one lower than the pile card. Suits do not matter.
- Aces and Kings do not wrap round: only a 2 goes on an Ace, and only a Queen on a King.
- When you are stuck, tap the stock to turn a new card onto the pile.
- The game ends when the peaks are clear (you win) or the stock is empty and nothing fits. Your score is the cards left on the peaks: lower is better.
Tips
- Look for runs: 5, 6, 7, 6, 5 clears five cards from one stock card.
- Prefer plays that uncover face-down cards, especially in the middle of a peak.
- Save stock cards for when nothing else is possible.
The history of Tri Peaks
Tri Peaks is a patience game with three overlapping peaks of cards. It belongs to the family of "one higher or lower" games, along with Golf, and became popular as a computer game in the late twentieth century.
