How to play
Goal
Clear all 28 cards of the pyramid by removing pairs that add up to 13.
Card values
Ace is 1, number cards are their number, Jack is 11, Queen is 12 and King is 13. The small number on picture cards shows their value.
How it works
- A card can be used once no card overlaps it from the row below. Covered cards look dimmer.
- Tap two free cards that add up to 13 to remove them: Ace + Queen, 2 + Jack, 3 + 10, 4 + 9, 5 + 8 or 6 + 7.
- A King is 13 on its own: tap it to remove it.
- Tap the stock (bottom left) to turn a card onto the waste pile. The top waste card can be paired with any free pyramid card.
- When the stock runs out you may turn the waste over and go through it again, twice.
Tips
- Before pairing, check which cards it will uncover. Free the cards that are blocking the most.
- If there are two ways to make a pair, choose the one that clears the pyramid rather than the waste.
- This game is great for practising number bonds to 13.
The history of Pyramid
Pyramid is a patience game that has been played in Europe for well over a century. It became widely known through computer solitaire collections, and is loved because it mixes luck with quick arithmetic.
