How to play
Goal
Find your way from the top-left corner to the peach square in the bottom-right corner.
How it works
- Your dot moves one square at a time. Walls block the way.
- Swipe across the maze to run along a corridor. You stop at a fork or a dead end.
- Or tap a square right next to you, use the arrow buttons, or press the arrow keys.
- Squares you have visited turn peach, so you can see where you have been.
- Every maze has exactly one route, and the game shows how many steps it takes. Try to match it.
Tips
- Dead ends are a good sign you took a wrong turn. Go back to the last fork.
- Sometimes it is easier to look at the exit and work backwards from it.
- A trick that works in every maze like this: keep one hand on a wall and follow it.
The history of Maze
Mazes are among the oldest puzzles. Greek myth tells of the Labyrinth on Crete, where the hero Theseus found his way to the Minotaur and back. Hedge mazes became fashionable in European gardens, and the one at Hampton Court Palace near London, planted around 1700, is still open to visitors. This game builds its mazes with a method called depth-first search, which carves one winding path through every square.
