How to play
Goal
Clear all seven columns by moving their cards onto the pile at the bottom.
How it works
- Tap the bottom card of any column to move it onto the pile, if it is one higher or one lower than the pile's top card. Suits don't matter.
- So on a 7 you can play a 6 or an 8. Then on that 8, a 7 or a 9, and so on.
- Aces and Kings don't wrap round: only a 2 goes on an Ace, and only a Queen goes on a King.
- When you're stuck, tap the stock to turn a new card onto the pile.
- The game ends when the columns are clear (you win) or the stock is empty with no moves left. Like golf, a lower score is better: your score is the cards left in the columns.
Tips
- Look ahead for long runs: 5, 6, 7, 6, 5 clears five cards from one stock card.
- When you have a choice, play the card that uncovers something useful in its column.
- Save the stock: every card you draw is one less chance later.
The history of Golf
Golf is a patience game from the early 1900s, usually traced to Britain, and named for its scoring: like a round of golf, the lower your score, the better.
